TwitterがISIS関連のアカウントをシャットダウンしたことについて、ISISは“Your virtual war on us will cause a real war on you,”などと声明文の書き込まれたウエブページにTwitter創業者のJack Dorseyの写真や同社のロゴを貼りつけた。声明文にはさらに、“You started this failed war,” “We told you from the beginning it’s not your war, but you didn’t get it and kept closing our accounts on Twitter, but we always come back.”　などと記されており、Twitterでは警察機関と連絡をとりあって対策を進めているという。
